Some days you just need a drink

Yesterday was one of those days that due to poor planning on my part, was not fun.   It started out with the chore of finishing up our tax returns.   I actually had started them last month but there was a problem with some of the paperwork sent by an financial institute and I had to wait for the correct version of it before I could proceed.  Why do they think it isn’t a problem if they wait to send the revised form the week before tax returns are due?

Forms completed, copies make, envelope made out and it was time to write out the dreaded check to the tax man.  This year was a little bit of an unknown since I had retired last May.  I didn’t do so well at estimating how much we were going to owe.  Ouch!

Then I capped my day off with a visit to the gynecologist.   Let’s face it.  Going to a gynecologist ranks at the bottom of fun things you can do with your life.  To add further discomfort, I got the additional benefit of having my doctor training a resident on my appointment.  As I was laying there counting the dots on the ceiling tile, I decided that a drink that night would be in order.

What to drink become my new obsession.   I stopped off a Wallgreens drug store on the way home to study their liquor area.  I know that sounds really odd but I live in a very small town were Wallgreens doubles as a liquor store.  The marshmallow vodka called out to me.   I quickly bought the bottle along with a crunch bar for the ride home.

At home, I hit the internet to find out what does a person do with marshmallow vodka but come up fairly empty handed.  It looked like the most popular use of the vodka was with hot chocolate.  hmmm  that wasn’t what I was looking for.  I did find how to make your own marshmallow vodka.   To bad Easter is gone or I would be making Peep Vodka.

I was on my own.  I had to dig down into my drinking experience and see what I could come up with.  After looking over my store of liquor, I decided that I could make up two different drinks.  One would be something I wanted to call a Twisted Peep and the other was a S’more cocktail.   I decided I really wanted something with chocolate and went for the S’more.   It  was almost worth the day just to have the drink.

Wondering what I would have put into my Twisted Peep?  Marshmallow vodka, vanilla vodka, creme de banana with a splash of 1/2 and 1/2.  Would it have worked?  Don’t know but maybe I will try it this weekend.

What other drinks can you think of for me to use my marshmallow vodka?
